Amber Ford

Academic Lead

Amber joins Noodle Partners having spent seven years on faculty with the University of Southern California Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work. Most recently, as a Clinical Associate Professor of Field Education, she taught multiple courses while involved in program administration and development, faculty development and support, and curriculum design. She was responsible for teaching evidenced-based interventions for MSW students and Family Nurse Practitioner students through the Nursing@USC program. She was also instrumental in securing funding and developing the curriculum for a HRSA-funded workforce development grant preparing MSW students for employment in Integrated Behavioral Health. Amber previously served as Regional Field Education Director for the USC Virtual Academic Center, the first online Master of Social Work program in the world. During this time, she led a team of faculty and staff responsible for field practicum placements in Northern California and 12 western states.

Prior to working in higher education, Amber worked across medical social work settings with a focus on populations experiencing cancer and other chronic or life-limiting illness or injury. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of California, and currently serves on the Advisory Council for Wise Caregiving, an organization providing training and consultation in contemplative caregiving for both formal and informal caregivers.

Amber received her Bachelor of Social Work from Azusa Pacific University, her Master of Social Work from Eastern Washington University, and her Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership and Change from the University of Southern California.
