Vice President, Teaching and Learning
Kathy has forged her career in the education arena, in both academia and the civil service. She has taught at all levels, and for several private and public colleges and universities. Kathy has considerable experience in instructional design, having held key leadership positions within learning and development at several federal agencies, to include the Food and Drug Administration and the National Park Service, where she was the Chief Learning Officer. Her experience teaching in an online doctoral program, combined with her experience building blended learning opportunities in the Federal Government, sparked Kathy’s passion for helping to create and sustain superior online programs. In addition to her civilian work experiences, Kathy is a Gulf War-era veteran of the U.S. Army who served as a helicopter pilot for several years. Kathy received her B.A. degree from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, her M.A.Ed. from Western Carolina University, and her Ed.D. from the University of Southern California.
